Can't trade in MapleStory Classic World? Check these two restrictions

Check the new-account timer first, then look for a Debt System notice.

01Start with the message on screen

There are two different restrictions to check. Match the message you see before taking action.

  • New account, no debt notice: check when a character reached level 15. Trading becomes available 24 hours after that milestone.
  • Debt notice at login, plus Repay Illegal Mesos at the top center: read the Debt System guidance below.
  • Neither matches? Save the exact error and check official notices or Player Support. These two rules do not cover every trading problem.

02New account: level 15, then 24 hours

The timer starts when a character on the account reaches level 15, not when you create the account.

For example, reaching level 15 at 18:00 Monday means the stated 24-hour interval ends at 18:00 Tuesday, in the same time zone. This illustrates the published rule; we have not measured the unlock in-game.

Still locked after that interval? Give support the error, the time you reached level 15, and your time zone.

03Debt: look for the specific notice

The Debt System concerns enforcement involving illegal mesos and unfair transactions. It is not a normal death penalty or a fee every player pays. Affected accounts receive a login notice and a Repay Illegal Mesos button.

The announcement lists restrictions on Store Permits, Hired Merchants, game-item and Cash-item trades, Cash Shop gifting, and dropping items. If you believe the enforcement is wrong, contact official Player Support.

04Read the amount before repaying

For an account with a debt notice, the official repayment flow works in a town. Follow the steps carefully:

  • Open Repay Illegal Mesos and review the amount. The default is your full debt, or all mesos in your Item Inventory if you have less than the debt.
  • Enter an amount of at least 1 meso and no more than the mesos in your Item Inventory.
  • Confirm, then select OK to complete payment. Cancel closes the flow.
  • The listed restrictions lift after full repayment. The announcement does not say a partial payment removes them.
