01Before you can sell: the trade unlock
Nexon’s launch notes say new accounts have a trade restriction: all trading features open 24 hours after a character on the account reaches level 15. A shop is a trading feature, so a brand-new account cannot open one on day one even with a permit.
02Get a Store Permit
The launch text of the Regular Store Permit says it lists up to 12 items at once; an earlier test version said 16. Check the tooltip of the permit you actually have before planning your stock.
| Permit | How you get it | Lasts | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Store Permit (event) | The Journey Begins check-in days 4 and 12 | 7 days | Untradable |
| Regular Store Permit | Cash Shop, 1,500 NX | 90 days | Tradable once |
| Special Store Permit | Limited-time; no current source listed | Limited time | Lists up to 24 items |
03Where you can open a shop
A permit can be used in fields that allow personal shops or in the Free Market. If a monster attacks or kills you, the shop closes. That is why most players set up in a Free Market room, where there are no monsters.
04How to get to the Free Market
Go to Henesys or Perion
Both towns have a magic-stone portal to the Free Market. Using it from either town is fine.
Arrive at Free Market Entrance
The entrance is a hub with portals to Free Market <1> through <20>. Fredrick, Scrooge and Lewis stand here.
Pick a room
Every numbered room allows personal shops. Walk through a few rooms first to see what others are selling and at what price.
Leave the same way
The portal returns you to the town you came from. Return Scrolls and Teleport Rocks do not work inside the Free Market.
05Fredrick, Scrooge and Lewis at the entrance
- Fredrick, the Store Banker: “Everyone whose employee’s contract has expired, come to me to reclaim your items and mesos!” If a merchant’s time runs out, collect the unsold items and earnings from him.
- Scrooge, a Storage Keeper: shared account storage with 50 item slots. Depositing an item costs 100 mesos before discounts.
- Lewis gives Welcome to the Free Market! (level 13+). The four-quest chain sends you to Chief Stan in Henesys and Dances with Balrog in Perion; each step pays 424 EXP and 306 mesos.
06Hired Merchants: what is confirmed
The Free Market rooms are marked as allowing Hired Merchants, and Fredrick exists to return items after an employee’s contract expires. However, we could not find a Hired Merchant item in the Classic World item database or in the launch notes. Until one appears in the Cash Shop or an official notice, assume your shop only stays open while your character is there.
07Before you set prices
- Check several rooms for the same item. Prices change quickly after launch, so we do not publish a price list.
- Untradable items, such as the event permits and many event rewards, cannot be listed.
- The Journey Begins also gives Megaphones on days 6 and 13 and Item Megaphones on day 14, which you can use to advertise what you sell.
- Keep the shop items you are not selling in storage so you do not list them by mistake.
