01Why selling loot to NPCs pays so little
Between the first and second closed tests, NPC sell-back prices were cut sharply, and the launch database shows the lower values. Picking up every drop to sell at a shop therefore adds far fewer mesos than many players expect from the original game.
| Item | First closed test (mesos) | Current database value (mesos) |
|---|---|---|
| Garnet | 1,000 | 200 |
| Pure Water | 720 | 112 |
| Garnet Ore | 150 | 40 |
| Salad | 120 | 22 |
02Daily citizenship greetings
From level 12, residents of Henesys and Kerning City have two daily citizenship quests each: First Greeting and Asking After. For Jake and Pia, these pay 409 and 286 mesos respectively, plus EXP and Contribution toward your citizenship grade.
Jake, Jane Doe, Maya, Pia and Bruce all have these quests. Visiting them on one route each day is one of the most dependable small meso sources at low levels.
03One-time quests that pay well
Quest rewards are fixed amounts, so they are a reliable top-up when your potion budget is tight.
- Welcome to the Free Market! chain (level 13+, from Lewis): four steps at 306 mesos and 424 EXP each.
- Pia’s level 42 quests: Pia’s Present For a Friend pays 1,330 mesos.
- Maya’s and Jane Doe’s longer quest chains open between levels 21 and 47; check each reward in the quest window before you commit.
04Sell to players instead
Crafting materials such as Garnet and Fragment of Magic are used in dozens of recipes, so other players often want them. Once trading is unlocked on your account, selling these in a Free Market shop usually returns more than an NPC will pay.
Prices are still settling after launch. Check what other shops charge for the same item before you list yours.
05Spend less
- Citizens of Henesys and Kerning City get discounts on cab fares, Storage Keeper services and some general store items.
- Storage deposits cost 100 mesos per item; with local citizenship the fee falls by 5% per grade, down to 50 mesos at grade 10.
- Buy recovery items by value, not habit. Compare potions by mesos per HP or MP restored before restocking.
06What to avoid
Buying mesos or accounts from third-party sellers is against the game’s rules and can cost you the account. Classic World also added the Lie Detector Test, which citizens can use on characters behaving like bots; failing it sends the character to the Truth Booth.
