01Become a Hunter and check your first-job foundation
Nexon's launch notes place first advancement at level 10 and second advancement at level 30. Bowman starts with Athena Pierce in Henesys; return to her for the Hunter or Crossbowman choice. This guide follows the Hunter path, which uses bows.
The skill and equipment discussion uses Nia Meow's October 27 Hunter guide, including its attributed Grummash build. It is a community route rather than an official prescription or our own playtest. Its advancement walkthrough sends Athena's letter to the Bowman Job Instructor at The Road to the Dungeon, collects 30 Dark Marbles in the test, and returns The Proof of a Hero to Athena.
A paid reset is not required merely to follow this opening. The source offers a no-reset Arrow Blow route and a Double Shot variant. Keep the first-job attack you developed instead of purchasing a reset just to match a screenshot. Second-job SP cannot repair a first-job allocation in the cited version.

Nexon · Official launch notes02An early SP route that opens mobbing and attack speed
Arrow Bomb gives you a new way to handle groups immediately, but a rank-one bomb does not replace a developed single-target attack in every situation. The source's default then builds a reliable weapon foundation before heavily investing in the bomb.
| Checkpoint | Community opening | What to check in play |
|---|---|---|
| Level 30 | Arrow Bomb 1 | Use it on a group; retain Arrow Blow or your existing Double Shot for isolated enemies. |
| Level 31 | Add 3 Bow Mastery | Develop the bow's low damage rolls rather than judging only your largest critical. |
| Level 32 | Reach Bow Mastery 5, then take Bow Booster 1 | Five Mastery opens Booster. Put the speed buff somewhere easy to refresh. |
| Following levels | Improve early Booster uptime, add Soul Arrow, and continue the main damage plan | Balance buff maintenance and arrow use against when stronger Arrow Bomb starts clearing groups faster. |
03Make Arrow Bomb hit a group, not just the first monster
Arrow Bomb's linked explosion can hit six monsters total, including the original target. That cap is not a promise that each shot finds six targets. Scattered spawns and awkward platforms reduce its value. Watch the whole group and count the casts needed to finish the survivors.
The cited current-version guide places bow whacking inside 65 pixels. If an enemy reaches you and the character swings the bow, restore shooting space rather than treating the weak hit as a damage-stat problem. Power Knockback can help, but repositioning and knockback also consume time or MP.
At maximum rank the source lists Arrow Bomb at 28 MP, with a 60% chance to stun for two seconds. A chance is not permanent control: carry recovery items and keep an escape direction available. The community's damage examples assume grouped targets and do not measure your connection delay.
04Plan STR around the bow you can actually obtain
For the community AP route, meet the next bow's total STR requirement and put the remaining investment into DEX. Total STR includes equipment. Copying someone else's base STR without their boots or other bonuses can leave the next weapon unusable.
Useful equipment checkpoints in the source are Ryden at level 30, Red Viper at 35 and Vaulter 2000 at 40. Read the item's current requirements before allocating points or buying it. These are checkpoints to investigate, not a requirement to replace every usable bow on schedule.
Acquisition matters as much as the stat line. The source lists Vaulter 2000 as a Woodcrafting 8 recipe and says it is not sold by an NPC shop. Check the recipe, materials and your crafting access before budgeting around it. Bows occupy both hands, so a shield is not part of this equipment plan.
Inspect the next usable bow
Check its level and total STR/DEX requirements, then confirm a current acquisition route.
Count equipment bonuses
Include only gear you own and can equip. Keep enough mesos for recovery and arrows after the upgrade.
Retest ordinary kills
Compare casts per monster or group. An upgrade that changes a consistent two-cast kill to one can matter more than a larger occasional critical.
05Manage Soul Arrow and Final Attack deliberately
The source recommends building core Arrow Bomb damage before rushing Final Attack. Its comparisons vary with the attack and number of targets. Do not import one single-target percentage into a crowded-map rotation.
| System | What it changes | Practical decision |
|---|---|---|
| Soul Arrow | Attacks do not consume arrows while the buff is active. | Carry spare arrows until you can maintain the buff comfortably; check it when supplies drop unexpectedly. |
| Final Attack: Bow | A timed toggle enables a chance of a separate follow-up animation. | Try it on and off when ordinary attacks already finish the target. A proc is not free time. |
| Amazon's Judgement | Critical hits can slow surviving monsters. | Control may help preserve distance, but it does not replace a plan for enemies already beside you. |
06Training candidates: check your own kill count first
These are map candidates from the cited guide's sample builds, not guaranteed best maps at a given level. Its projections depend on accuracy, equipment, skill ranks and target grouping; they do not measure channel crowding.
| Stage | Candidates to inspect | Why your result may differ |
|---|---|---|
| Early Hunter | Transfer Area; Line 1 <Area 1> | Check Stirge or Bubbling hit rate and room to shoot before committing to a session. |
| Developed Arrow Bomb | Ant Tunnel III; Ant Tunnel IV | The source's level-50 examples assume strong group clears. Count casts on both mushroom types. |
| Later second job | Ant Tunnel Park; Line 1 <Area 2> | Compare grouping, travel and supplies against your existing map rather than moving because your level increased. |
